Based on a system recording 160 video channels the annual running costs of a RAID5 recording solution employing the Smatrix would be around £1,600.00 while a traditional system from many manufacturers could be on average around £4,800.00. Over the lifespan of the product this could amount to savings in excess of £20,000. With CO2 emissions also reduced from around 144,000 KgCo2 to around 48,000 KgCo2 during the same period. This clearly demonstrates that reducing your impact on the environment could actually provide a reduction in cost of ownership compared with a traditional RAID5 solution.*
